Fix the Score
What You See Is Not What You Hear
You will see a one-bar musical passage containing a triad and a four-note melody (7 notes in total).
Listen carefully to the audio example. The performance contains 3 mistakes: three notes have been changed from the original score. Each altered note is within one whole tone of the correct note.
Identify and correct the three wrong notes in the score, then check your solution.
Example:
If the score shows a D, the audio may play a nearby different note such as C, C♯, Eâ™, or E. Your task is to detect the mistake and change the note back to the one shown in the score.
Train your ear to detect small pitch differences and improve your accuracy in melodic and harmonic listening.
